Krol Media Associates, LLC is honored to join with St. Barnabas

Krol Media is joining St. Barnabas in the promotion of its annual Founder’s Day

The Founder’s Day celebration on April 28th at the Omni William Penn Hotel will begin with Rocky Bleier visiting St. Barnabas’ Nursing Home and cap off at the Omni William Penn with the Black ‘N Gold Charity “Ball” where he will be presented with the Hance Award.

For more information or to purchase tickets for this event, please visit StBarnabasHealthSystem.com or call (724) 443-0700 ext. 5258.

St. Barnabas has chosen Rocky Bleier to receive their 2011 Hance Award.  Bleier, a Purple Heart and Bronze Star medal winner, earned four Super Bowl rings as the Steelers starting Running Back.  He has been a long-time participant and supporter of St. Barnabas’ “PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS” Christmas program.  For the past six years Bleier has “adopted” a resident and personally delivered a gift.  One of Pittsburgh’s most beloved adopted sons, Bleier is a successful entrepreneur, motivational speaker and philanthropist.  The Hance Award is presented annually to a national figure that has had a significant impact on the lives of Americans.

Rocky Bleier’s “fighting” spirit began in his working class hometown of Appleton, Wisconsin and was forged in the Notre Dame stadium and the rice paddies of Vietnam.  In spite of being told he would never again play football, Bleier, even though undersized by NFL standards and a 16th round draft pick, worked tirelessly for two years to gain a position on the Steeler team.  He became a starting running back and racked up 3,865 yards over 12 seasons.  His will to succeed took him from injured reserve corps in 1970 to the most well known running back in Steeler history.

The Hance Award is named for Brother Gouverneur P. Hance (1871-1954), who founded St. Barnabas in 1900 as a place to provide care to those in need regardless of their ability to pay.

“Krol Media is excited for this opportunity to work with St. Barnabas and Rocky Bleier.  Congratulations, Rocky, for receiving this prestigious award.”

Family House Polo

All of us here at Krol Media are feeling the burn.  No, we’re not talking about the exercise-type of burn or the sun burn from our wonderful vacations in Hawaii–we’ve been too busy working with Family House to work on our tans.  There’s almost a month left until the 27th Annual Family House Polo Match and we still have a lot to do.

Which explains why, even though this blog was just created, there hasn’t been much blogging going on!

For those of you who don’t know, Family House is a hospital hospitality house.  It is one of the largest hospital hospitality houses in the country, providing affordable, convenient and comfortable housing in which patients and family members can stay while awaiting treatment.  During its 27 years of existence, Family House has hosted more than 10,000 guests from every state in the nation and from all points around the globe.  Family House is truly a “home away from home.”

The Family House Polo Match is the premier fundraising event for Family House.  This event is one of the most successful polo fundraisers in the world, raising more than $3 million in the past 26 years and drawing more than 2,000 spectators.

Polo Your Way- The 27th Annual Family House Polo Match at Hartwood Acres will be held on Saturday September 11, 2010. Gates open at 11 AM, the match begins at 1:30 PM.  Kids and parents alike will enjoy the many activities and festivities along with the polo match, including: tailgating, vintage car show, boutique shopping, kids crafts & activities, tailgating, great food, great company and so much more!  This event is open to the public with the advance purchase of tickets.  All proceeds benefit Family House charities. Call (412) 647-POLO or visit FamilyHouse.org for tickets.

Krol Media will be there the day of the event to help out this great organization.  We’d love to see you all there!  Don’t forget your big hats–you’ll need them when you help stop the divots while they play “Pretty Woman!”
